When I was a full-fledged bride, I did nothing, but try to
come up with wonderful DIY ideas that I can incorporate in my wedding. Aside
from the obvious fact that it will give my very special day lots and lots of
personal touch, doing some stuff on my own will help me and my husband save a
huge amount of our hard-earned cash. I was able to create several wedding
stuff; I actually wanted to do more, but because I got pregnant, was told to
get a bed rest, and had a miscarriage eventually two weeks prior the wedding, I
had no choice, but to let go of the things that I want done.
If I’m a frugal homemaker, I want you to get to know my husband! It sometimes drives me mad, but at the end of the day, I always end up having this realization that he has a point. He’s a cheapskate, but it’s that certain trait of his that enabled us to tie the knot without getting a loan or having to borrow from someone just to get our wedding suppliers paid on time. But he’s still a cheapskate, and it drives me really crazy! :D
We’re happily married and are now living on our own. We moved to a new home, where I plan to do a lot of DIY stuff (again!). What’s good about DIYs is that it gives me a sense of fulfillment every time I finish something. I’ve done it during the wedding planning, so there’s absolutely no excuse for me not to do it now. I have all the time in the world to do what I want for our home – no pressure and no deadline!
A home should not only be a blissful and tranquil place to live in; maintaining its beauty and neatness is actually one of the MANY factors why a home has a peaceful and joyful atmosphere.
So yes, I want our home to be beautiful, and I’ll certainly get it done! J
